Quoin Project and Cost Management Ltd. is a professional firm specializing in the provision of Project Management and Cost Consulting Services to the Construction Industry.

The company, incorporated in 1988, has developed a wide client base. The company has built a strong reputation over the years serving in both the local and international construction arenas. This has created a niche market for clients seeking consulting and management services.

Currently Quoin is providing Project Management services on the $1.25 Billion athlete’s village for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The company is providing scheduling and progress monitoring services to track and ensure that milestone as well as deadline dates are achieved. Tasks include detailed analysis of key activities to ensure resource availability within tight time constraints.

Project and Construction Management work has included the expansion to the FedEx YVR facility. This has involved the doubling of the existing capacity of the facility while keeping the facility in operation. This multi-phased project has included new ramp and taxiway construction for up to four jet aircraft as well as four feeder aircraft. Quoin was actively involved from the start in initial budget preparation through to bid negotiations and into construction.

Other recent projects include a 50,000Sf food processing facility in Arkansas. Quoin acted as the Project Manager for this fast track, design-build project as well as a 100,000Sf, tilt-up concrete, light industrial/commercial building in Burnaby, B.C. Due to tight time constraints, the front end site preparation and piling design and construction work, was fast tracked ahead of the main building construction. The project was brought in on schedule and below budget.

Other Project and Construction Management projects has included several apartment building projects ranging in size from a 160 unit high-rise development to a 20 unit wood framed residential project. These projects were construction management with individual bid packages being prepared for tender, reviewed and subsequently negotiated into actual contracts. Detail scheduling as well as budget control was necessary to ensure that the client’s needs were met at all times.

Cost Management work is performed for a number of clients and has involved health care, heritage buildings, civic buildings, hotels, museums and archival facilities, industrial buildings, production facilities, through to residential buildings. This has involved the preparation of conceptual through to detailed per-bid estimates as well as change order review and dispute resolution services.
